Why is raw dough dangerous?

Raw bread dough is genuinely dangerous for dogs. The warm, moist environment of a dog's stomach is ideal for yeast to keep rising, which causes the dough to expand and can lead to bloating, gastric dilation, and severe abdominal pain. Even worse, the fermenting yeast produces ethanol, which gets absorbed into the bloodstream and causes alcohol poisoning. Symptoms include vomiting, disorientation, difficulty breathing, and in severe cases, seizures or coma. Are any types of bread harmful when baked?

Plain bread is fine, but many breads contain ingredients that are toxic to dogs. Raisin bread is dangerous because grapes and raisins cause kidney failure in dogs.
