How old would you be on every planet?
β
Enter your age in Earth years and see how old you'd be on every other planet in our solar system. A "year" is just one trip around the Sun, and some planets take much longer to make that trip than others. You'd be a teenager on Neptune at any age under 165.
Your age:
π€ Mercuryβ
1 Mercury year = 88 Earth days
124 years
βοΈ Venusβ
1 Venus year = 225 Earth days
49 years
π Earthβ
1 Earth year = 365 days
30 years
π΄ Marsβ
1 Mars year = 687 Earth days
16 years
β‘ Jupiterβ
1 Jupiter year = 12 Earth years
2.5 years
πͺ Saturnβ
1 Saturn year = 29 Earth years
1.0 years
π΅ Uranusβ
1 Uranus year = 84 Earth years
0.36 years
π± Neptuneβ
1 Neptune year = 165 Earth years
0.18 years
βͺ Plutoβ
1 Pluto year = 248 Earth years
0.12 years
A "year" is one full orbit around the Sun. Planets farther out take much longer to make that trip, so their years are stretched compared to ours.
Why does your age change?
β
Your age in Earth years is how many times Earth has gone around the Sun since you were born. But every planet orbits the Sun at its own pace, so your "age" on each one comes out wildly different. Mercury laps the Sun in just 88 days, so a 30-year-old on Earth has lived through over 120 Mercury years. Neptune, way out at the edge of the solar system, takes 165 Earth years to make one trip around. So a 30-year-old on Earth hasn't even completed a fifth of one Neptunian year. Same person, same lifetime, just measured against different rhythms.
FAQ:
How accurate is this calculator?
Very. The orbital periods come from NASA's planetary fact sheets and are accurate to within a fraction of a day: your age on every planet matches what astronomers would calculate themselves.
β
Why am I less than 1 year old on Neptune?
Neptune takes 165 Earth years to orbit the Sun once. Unless you're remarkably old, you simply haven't lived long enough to complete one full Neptunian year yet. The same is true for Pluto, which takes 248 Earth years to orbit.
β
Could anyone actually be older than 1 on Neptune?
Mathematically, yes, they'd just need to be at least 165 Earth years old. No human has ever lived that long. The oldest verified person reached 122 years, which is only 0.74 Neptune years.
β
What about leap years?
The calculator uses 365.25 days as Earth's year, which accounts for the extra quarter-day per year that leap years fix. Results stay accurate even for very old or very young inputs.
β
Why doesn't this include the Sun or Moon?
The Sun doesn't orbit anything you'd recognize as a year (it orbits the galactic center, which takes 230 million years). The Moon orbits Earth, not the Sun, so a "Moon year" isn't really a thing. We kept the calculator focused on bodies with a clearly defined orbit around the Sun.

If the wild number on Neptune got your attention, the why behind every planet's orbit is even better. Each of these articles pairs naturally with what you just calculated.
