How much would you weigh on every planet, the Moon, and the Sun?

Enter your weight below and see how much you'd tip the scales on every planet in our solar system, plus the Moon, Pluto, and the Sun. Gravity varies wildly across these worlds, so you'd be a heavyweight on Jupiter and nearly floating on Mars.

Your weight:

🟀 Mercury

57 lbs

♀️ Venus

136 lbs

🌍 Earth

150 lbs

πŸŒ™ The Moon

25 lbs

πŸ”΄ Mars

57 lbs

⚑ Jupiter

354 lbs

πŸͺ Saturn

137 lbs

πŸ”΅ Uranus

133 lbs

πŸ”± Neptune

168 lbs

βšͺ Pluto

9 lbs

β˜€οΈ The Sun

4,052 lbs

Numbers reflect surface gravity. On gas giants like Jupiter, "surface" means the top of the cloud layer where pressure equals Earth's atmosphere.

Why does your weight change?

Your mass stays the same everywhere in the universe because you're made of the same atoms whether you're on Earth or Mars. But your weight is the force of gravity pulling on that mass, and gravity changes based on how massive a planet is and how close to its center you can stand.

Jupiter has over 300 times Earth's mass, so it pulls you down 2.4 times harder. Mars has only 11% of Earth's mass, so it pulls you down barely a third as much. The Sun is so massive its gravity would crush a human body within seconds, long before weight became a useful measurement.

FAQ:

How accurate is this calculator?

Very. The gravity values come from NASA's planetary fact sheets and are accurate to three decimal places: your real-world weight on Mars would match this calculator's result almost exactly.

Why does Saturn's gravity barely differ from Earth's?

Saturn is huge but mostly hydrogen and helium, so it's less dense than you'd expect. Its "surface" gravity (at the cloud tops) ends up only slightly stronger than Earth's, despite being 95 times more massive.

Could a human survive Jupiter's gravity?

Probably not for long. At 2.4 times Earth's gravity, blood circulation, breathing, and bone strength all start failing. Astronauts experiencing 3G during launch can only handle it for minutes.

Why isn't there a black hole option?

Black hole gravity isn't a single number, it depends on how close you are to the event horizon and increases infinitely as you approach. Check out our black hole weight calculator for more.

What would I weigh on a neutron star?

Roughly 100 billion times your Earth weight. A 150 lb person would weigh about 15 trillion lbs. You would not survive this experience.

What Is the Gravity on Mars?

Mars has 38% of Earth's gravity, and that changes more than just your weight.

What Is the Gravity on Jupiter?

The gas giant pulls you down 2.4 times harder than Earth, and that's just at the cloud tops.

What Would Happen If You Fell into Jupiter?

Spoiler: you wouldn't hit a surface, you'd be crushed long before.

Is Pluto A Planet?

The demoted world where you barely tip the scale at 6% of your Earth weight.
